Chief Development Officer
Full-Time, Salaried Position
As a member of the URS senior management team, will position the organization for growth and
sustainability by establishing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that generates funds necessary
to sustain and expand programs and critical services that support children and adults with disabilities. This includes,
donor cultivation, major gift solicitation, grants, planned giving and special events. The CDO will also supervise and
guide the Development Department staff and support Department Managers in marketing and communications.
Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations or closely related field is required. Six to
eight years of experience in development, fundraising, communications, or related field. Possess a thorough
understanding of fundraising best practices for prospecting, reporting, acknowledgement, and stewardship. Prior
supervisory/management experience and the ability to meet deadlines are essential. Excellent oral, written, electronic
and interpersonal communication skills are a must with a demonstrated ability to cultivate donors. Strong computer
skills are required and familiarity with job related software preferred. Ability to work a flexible schedule as the
situation dictates (i.e., weekends, evenings, extended hours). Strong organizational skills in conjunction with time
management and self-motivation are additional requirements. Must maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license and follow
Agency insurance carrier requirements.
