Activity Specialist
Full-Time Position
Duties
The Activity Specialist assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and provides oversight for client activities; which are multi-faceted, while meeting the client’s needs, wants and desires in the area of recreation. The person in this position coordinates and participates in client activities designed to promote social interaction, orientation to the community and intellectual stimulation for both youth and adult clients.
Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED and a 90-hour Activity Certificate from an accredited Ohio program are required. An Associate’s Degree in Human Services and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Adult Day Habilitation, Adult Day Programming or Residential Services preferred. Outstanding oral, written, electronic and interpersonal communication skills are also required in this role. Must maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license and be in compliance with Agency insurance requirements to provide non-medical transportation. Must meet all requirements and training to provide Home and Community Based Waiver Services per rules of State of Ohio, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and/or Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, including Non-Medical Transportation. Certification in CPR and First Aide is also required.
