SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – The McDonald’s in Springfield is being recognized by URS for its commitment to hiring people with disabilities.
The store has partnered with “Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities” and promotes the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities.
Both URS and McDonald’s say it is a rewarding opportunity for everyone.
“We are able to provide wrap-around support to help them through the employment process,” says Jeremy Nelson of URS’s Employment Services Department. “As far as job development and coaching, skill building, and conversation with employers about how to best approach training or support on the job.”
Sophie Jallow, Hiring Manager at McDonald’s, said, “They are dedicated. They come on time and are always here. What it means for our company is our employees are dedicated. That’s what we’re looking for.”
October is known as National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
