URS is celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) this October!
Jarrett is a 2020 Project SEARCH graduate. Prior to being accepted into Project SEARCH, Jarrett completed two sessions of Summer Youth Work Experience at the Beavercreek Golf Club.
During Summer Youth, Jarrett worked on honing his soft skills as well as learning important work tasks. He stood out as a leader during his second session, and became more like an assistant to the Job Coach, teaching the soft skills and how to complete work tasks to employer standard.
During Project SEARCH, he completed rotations in Environmental Services (EVS), Catering and Food Service.
He began job development this spring, and was hired by Kroger in Beavercreek to be a courtesy clerk. Jarrett received off site job coaching to train and complete his computer modules when he was hired in May. His supervisors state that he is now one of their fastest baggers. He states that he loves the job. His favorite things about bagging groceries is helping people and seeing familiar faces from high school and SEARCH.
