Job Seekers

Employment Services is a part of the greater mission of URS to help those with disabilities or facing other challenges to gain skills, improve their functional abilities and gain independence in order to improve their quality of life. Employment is often a vital part of the rehabilitation process and the road to success.

We are often asked the following questions from people who are interested in possibly seeking employment through our Employment Services Department.

  • I’m not sure what job or services are right for me?
  • I’m worried that working will affect my benefits.
      • For a majority of American’s with disabilities, community employment is beneficial and does not mean you have to give up your benefits. Both Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD/BVR) and local County Boards of Developmental Disabilities (DoDD) offer access to trained Benefits Analysts that can assist you in figuring out the best path for you.
  • What Services do you offer?
      • We offer a full continuum of employment services to meet your needs:
        • Vocational Habilitation Programing
        • Work Assessments
        • Career Exploration
        • Job Development and Placement
        • Job Coaching and Job Retention Services
        • Travel Training
        • Summer Jobs, Summer Youth Work Experience, and Summer Youth Career Exploration
  • Do these services cost me anything?
      • The simple answer is no. These services are paid for through Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) and/or the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DoDD) Medicaid Waivers.
