Movement & Independence

Physical Therapy involves working towards minimizing physical dysfunction and enhancing an individual's independence, safety, and quality of life. Our therapists focus on activities that increase flexibility of joints, coordination, balance, strength/endurance and quality of movement patterns.

Daily Living Skills

The Occupational Therapist's role is to help patients in making the activities that occupy their day as independent, productive and energy efficient as possible. These skills may include developing skills needed for handwriting and typing, as well as activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, meal preparation, and community living skills.

Our cutting-edge Simulated Therapy Apartment with "universal design" creates a simulated home environment where patients can practice everyday skills in a realistic environment.

Communication & Feeding

Speech-Language Pathologists are professionals licensed and certified in the identification of speech, language, and feeding/swallowing disorders. Comprehensive speech pathology services are available for patients having difficulty expressing thoughts, feelings, or needs or difficulty being understood by others.

URS' pediatric speech-language pathology program provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of children birth to 18 years of age for speech, language, swallowing, feeding and oral motor skills.
