One of our parents took the time to send a note to URS’ Adult Services Manager and Executive Director about the wonderful care she is receiving for her son during the pandemic.

“Hello Dennis,
I wanted you to know how helpful Annette has been in getting my son back to URS and getting him transportation.  She has done a remarkable job in making my son, Ryan, happy again with some feeling of normalcy.  She has been very responsive to my inquiries and shown much sensitivity to understanding the world of disabilities.  Also I am so pleased to know Nate who works with my son as well.  What a gentle, competent, kind man to have working for you and all those who need him at URS.  Ryan has attended URS for many years which he has always enjoyed.  Brandi also one of his favorites, is always cheerful and so helpful in making Ryan’s life better.
Thanks so much for your beautiful staff and the mission you so competently offer.  URS has always been so supportive of Ryan and me.
Take care.
Gail”

“Hello Annette,
Wow, what a week!  Thank you so very much for your concern and care about Ryan.  He just loves getting on the van and seeing Nate too.  I so appreciate all your work in making that transportation happen.  You are the only one who seems to support Ryan and understand what he may be thinking.  Nate makes my mornings really special:  he is a personable and sensitive man whom I hope never leaves URS!  Selfish of me, but when some good folks come along I just can’t help hoping for a continued relationship with Ryan.  I hope the same for you:  stay awhile.  You are one of the special ones as well who understands the world we all live in.
It was great for me to be back in Ryan’s every day world again for this short time as he has lived in a group home for over 20 years.  He is a bunch of work but I miss him everyday and worry about his future constantly.  Some things are just too sad to talk about.
Thank you again.  If I can do anything to help out URS or you, please ask me.
Take care.
Gail”
