United Rehabilitation Services Announces Completion of Capital Campaign


Dayton Ohio – United Rehabilitation Services of Greater Dayton at the Charles D. Berry Center announced today they have successfully reached their fundraising goal and completed the Unlocking PossAbilities Expansion Project. The $6 million dollar campaign included a new $1 million dollar endowment that has dramatically expanded the safety net of support services by adding capacity for 160 additional children and adults with developmental and acquired disabilities.


The project added 21,647 square feet (a 55% increase) to URS’ center at the corner of Needmore and Old Troy Pike.  The new Harold & Mary Rieck Children’s Wing will increase capacity by an additional 60 children for the center’s 5-Star Rated Early Childhood Education & School-Age Programs, tripling the number of infants from five to 16 babies, and doubling the number of toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children at the center.  URS’ Child Care Programs serve children ages 6 weeks to 17 years, with and without disabilities.   The expansion also added capacity by 100 additional adults and seniors with disabilities by adding a new Nursing Clinic, Senior Room, Expanded Vocational Training areas including a new Laundry Center, Gymnasium, Computer Lab and Art Room.
